Stoplesteinan
Stoplesteinan (The Stople stones) consist of 16 upright stones arranged in a circle with a diameter of approximately 21 meters. The tallest stones rise about 1.2 meters above the ground.

16 stones are placed in a circle. Over the years, there have been many theories about the stone circle. A Thing site in Viking times, a burial monument, or perhaps a sundial? Like Stonehenge, Stoplesteinan conceal their origin. Perhaps the explanation is that St. Olav’s Way between Egersund and Sokndal starts approximately here?
Stoplesteinan are just a 10-15 minute walk up Skårabrekkå from County Road 44 in Egersund. Read more about them here.
